Juneau, AK - Wedding

August 16-23

One of my best friends got married this summer, on August 22. Megan Treston is now Mrs. Orsi, and my weeklong visit home to Juneau was filled with events to celebrate!

Megan's bridesmaids were Me, Nicole, Amber, Lesley,Katharine and Kelsey. This is the first wedding for one of our friends and we honestly had no idea what to do about it.

Bridal Shower

Only a few of us had ever even been to a bridal shower, let alone thrown one, so this was quite the experiment for us! We invited our close girlfriends and some moms to Amber's where we held the shower. We got ideas from some of our older friends who had already started going through these events, and came up with games and activities. It actually turned out extremely successful and we all had a lot of fun!

Us and Megan!

One of the games was a competition between teams of five, each trying to create the best wedding dress out of toilet paper. My team dressed Donna, copying Megan's dress style and obviously won :) Though all of the dresses were actually very good considering the material...

Although we looked delighted about digging into the cake at this point, Amber was not too happy ten pounds later the next day....hahaha

The Bachelorette Party.

Megan had 8 girls from Portland where she went to college come for the wedding, and them with the eight of us made for a huge party! We started out at the Twisted Fish for dinner where we had a group of 20.

We got two hotel rooms at the Goldbelt in Downtown Juneau to get the party started.

Out in Juneau

Although this may appear to be TJ, it's actually a bar called the Alaskan.

Group shots!!

It was such a fun night out with the girls!

Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsal dinner was at the Yacht Club and catered by El Sombrero!! They had a Mexican Fiesta Theme so we had a night full of margaritas, enchiladas, and of course, mustaches.

The Ceremony

The wedding was held at Chapel By the Lake, and it was amazing!! It was crazy to see our little Megan get married, but so awesome. I am so glad that we all got to get together and be a part of this!!
